This morning Kaitlyn and I were able to get a little extra sleep. Then we were up, Matthew had a bath (since he had some cornbread batter in his hair from yesterday) and we were all off and going. Today is the 31st Annual Children's Festival. Adam gets to work at a booth with his fellow Master Gardeners in-training. They will help kids glue seeds onto a strip of paper that they can later, easily plant. They use water soluble glue and space the seeds properly in between two strips of biodegradable toilet paper. Pretty clever things he gets to learn.
Matthew, Kaitlyn and I first went to Daddy's booth of course. The best one there. Then I simply followed Matthew around to the other places of interest. He really liked the firetruck and police car. The kids were allowed to climb on the truck and get right into the car. Matthew thought it was pretty special when a real firefighter picked out a hat for him to wear and a few other items to take home. He wore the hat the entire time. Another place he really liked was the Boy Scouts pine derby race cars. He ran back and forth the length of the track many times. So fun lifting the lever to start the cars, then retrieving them at the end!
We had been to an October Pumpkin Festival earlier and it was so crowded. There were so many parents and children that is had been difficult to walk around, let alone the lines to do things. This was very enjoyable with a very nice sized crowd. We went in the afternoon and there was still plenty of materials left for us to do all the crafts we wanted. Very nice.
Afterwards we drove around town a little looking at all the piles of snow. In one place they had plowed through a drift that must be about 8-10 feet tall just up the way from our house.
