Had some really good bible study last night and today. So that made for a very good day. Going to sleep with the kids is still a much more peaceful experience compared to the first few months when Kaitlyn was born. And now the day's are like that too! Matthew is thoughtful of Kaitlyn when she is sleeping and has learned how to be more and more quiet. He also has learned how to be more gentle around her in general. He only throws Nerf balls in the house now. He also realizes that Kaitlyn likes to see things he's interested in and wants to show her, not necessarily have them put in her face. Just lately he's been trying to give her a pacifier. And when he likes to explore her little fingers and arms, he has had very gentle hands for a long time now. He is a good big brother.
Lately when he goes to sleep he likes to have his paintbrushes and favorite book. If he wakes up for a little while wondering about something, it's "where are they!" When he has them in his hands again, he's right back to happy sleep. Today when we started making a batch of cookies, Morgan came over again to play. Then Daddy came home and Matthew got to go with him to the chiropractor and library again. Morgan stayed and helped me finish. He was a big help and is very cute.
After supper Matthew was outside with the boys playing in the snow. I came to check on him, to see if he was ready to come in. He puts up his hand and says "stay there," and keeps walking after the boys. He's been doing this when he needs his space or wants to be left to what he is doing. Growing up!
We have an orchid our neighbor gave us while in Texas. It was had its blooms for 2 months now at least! It is just amazing. And a poinsettia Adam gave to me for Christmas is just as pretty as it was when we bought it, plus a new, large layer of green on top. We have very happy plants here. They have good lighting where they are and a nice baseboard heater right below them, Adam says.
