Happy Mother's Day!

Mema and Pappa are here for a visit from Montana!

How did their names come about? Our cousin/nephew, Blake grew up with them and as he learned to talk these were what he started out with. (The syllables of, Mommy, switched around is a common "mistake" beginning speakers make.) Now that he is almost ten, he often uses more traditional names - but the originals are endearing and being passed down to other grandchildren.

They arrived monday, May 9th, so we happily extended our Mother's Day celebration.

They had an enjoyable trip traveling down for 2 1/2 days. They visited Mt. Rushmore and the Corn Palace on the way here. Dad and Mom left Malta with temperatures in the 40's and were surprised to come here to temps. in the 90's! Frankly we were too. It reached up to 97 degrees today! That was a surprise.

After Adam came home for work we all went over to the big garden. Needed a little watering with all of the heat! Though he has been faithfully adding mulch each time we go and that sure keeps the moisture in.

Kaitlyn's first big swinging experience! She has always been in the little children harness swings prior to this. A great 'first time' with Mema.

Matthew is drinking in all of the feats Johnny can do on the play set. Oh...we have so much to look forward too...

These two play catch and practice hitting every time we come. Johnny is the nicest guy!

Our big tree sheds those "whirly twirly" type of seeds. We came home from the garden tonight to the first of them coming down. Oh...we have so much to look forward to...

The kids really like how they look like little helicopters coming down. Matthew brought some in to the house to keep throwing them up and playing with them.

Mom and Dad stayed at a bed and breakfast in town. It's called the 'Bankers House.' It is gorgeous. Wow. With the grounds it takes up most of the block that it sits on. It's really close to our house and has a wonderful affordable price! It's like a museum and the owners, Mary and Jerry, have gorgeous collections, furniture, antiques, etc. all throughout it.

Dad kept joking about the gold bed they got to sleep in....and how Jerry calls Mary, 'the warden.' They were such a nice couple! Mom and Dad always came over with stories of all of the great conversations they had.

So nice having them here!
