A Day at the Park...Baseball Park!

Omaha's Ameritrade Park

Matthew was So Excited this morning! He was ready to go right after breakfast.

Brand new this year! We've been watching Kiewit construction working on this ever since we moved here.

The old Rosenblatt Stadium was retired with much fanfare last year. The Henry Doorly Zoo bought it, which is located right next door. They are planning on keeping it mostly in 'museum' quality. Loyal fans are pretty satisfied.

We came nice and early to see all the warm ups and preliminary action.

It was big. But still only 1/3 the size of the Aggie football stadium in College Station. And they're planning on expanding to move from the second largest stadium to the first. That Texas is something!

Omaha has been working hard on beautifying and 'taking back' their downtown and surrounding area. Completing the Ameritrade Park is a large step in the process. Between the downtown and airport to the other side of the baseball park - they've done a great job!

The Qwest Center is also right across the street. Adam comes here now and then for work related events. It's connected to a hotel where many out of town employees stay.

Tickets today were 200% guaranteed available. It was a little sparse. But that made it so nice! Kaitlyn and I saw ourselves on the big screen as they pictured different people in the crowd throughout the game. And we knew we had good odds at getting a chance at a fowl ball.

The Creighton Bluejays played Missouri State Bears today and won 3-1! It was their first MVC Regular Season crown since 2005. So this places them in first place going into the MVC (Missouri Valley Conference) Tournament next week. Also to be played here in Omaha, opening with the Bradley Braves.

Today was also Creighton's Senior Day. So that was a great way for us to get to know the team a little better.

We didn't stay the entire game. But we saw their three scores!

We nicely received our tickets through an associate at Kiewit. Such a fun day!

Didn't catch a ball today. Maybe next time. But on the way home Daddy and Matthew picked up his first metal bat and a t-ball.
