July 23-24, 2009; Thursday and Friday

Brr! It's gotten cold. Down to 48 degrees this morning. Everyone talks about our unusual summer this year. The grass is still green and the countryside so beautiful! We are enjoying these occasional cool times and rain showers! Hurrah!

It was nice to go to story time again on thursday. We saw a lot of kids that we recognized. And I was happy to see that they took down a ladder they had in there going up to a loft. It has been causing quite the episodes ever since we've lived here. Nobody under 4 inches were supposed to use it. Ugh. Matthew is still under 4 inches! Let alone everyone we ever see there in the children's room.

Matthew also got in on making a fish during craft time. He must have done pretty good because he was the first child the librarian asked to take a picture of. He happily obliged.

It has been pretty quiet at gymnastics this month. The instructor thinks most are vacationing and just out of town. So our little babies are coming out on the floor since there are so few children. This is very nice and Kaitlyn is enjoying it!

Before we begin we always see the older girls practicing. Probably about 7-13 years old. They are very good. This week in the paper we saw two that we recognized. They placed first at national competition at Disneyland. Very impressive. This has been a month of a lot of competitions they have all been attending around the nation.

Matthew probably won't go to the next level here, the 3-6 year olds. He really enjoys it, and yet... We did this instead of karate - because Mommy enjoys it more!

Today Matthew split his hammering board right down the middle. He was pretty happy about that! He is very good at hammering in nails. Very straight, very impressive.

Here he is hitting it really hard, trying to split it again. Pretty loud, but a lot of fun!
