Traveling back to Plattsmouth. First pit stop, Gillette! We drove past "Kaitlyn's house," where she was born. It looks pretty good. Looking forward to when we can do some needed things with it, though! But we have nice renters, and they've been patient with us.
Having fun in the car.
For the first time in seven years, I sat up front with Adam most of the way. It was really odd, in a really good way! I tell you what, calming young kids down quickly by sitting in the back with them is priceless. And now, there's nothing like sitting up next to my husband and having adult conversation. William has become so much more independent and content. Quicker than the other two-sies. And he's only 22 months old!
Time to stretch the legs again!
Take another look at this picture. We've never seen this many people here before. There were about 6 rock climbers right in the middle of the Tower, too. We forgot, 4th of July weekend! Even met someone from Louisville in the parking lot. They are a little town very close to Plattsmouth and they saw our Nebraska license plates. (Still haven't been able to change them : (
Looking at the fire damage. Still a gorgeous view.
"It wasn't a dream," almost seemed to be William's response when we got back to our house. His House.
The kids had the hugest smiles as each ran to the part of the house they've been most curious to see again. Matthew ran to the butlers pantry and started opening all the cupboards, Kaitlyn ran to her room and William ran through each room one at a time.Kaitlyn missed her flowerbeds and immediately got right back to picking bouquets. Always for others.
This looks Way better than before! I did a Little bit on it, got overwhelmed, and conveniently went to do something else. Adam tackled it! Yay!
Our graceful windows.
The realtor recommended we get this painted. But I couldn't get to it before we left the first time. So it was my first project when we returned and it turned out so nice! Yay.
Crafts in the back room. Erin and her kids were able to come! She's in the back right. So good seeing them!Over to the little park next door to see the sights.
Neighborhood boys came to happily light off some fireworks with us.
Fortunately it was too windy. To many boys for me, way too excited about fire and explosives.
Awesome Cooper.
We have All Eternity to be adults. Childhood is such a breath of a moment passing in time. We love watching so many moments of it and perhaps, remembering glimpses of our own.Daddy has done yard work one full week straight. No letting up. Looks like normal again! Though his two big toes are black and blue. Kind of wonder if this is how long distance runners feel?
Our realtor has really let us down. Things were stolen, yard was out of control. Thought we'd have an advocate while we were gone, a little bit. So we're switching to a new, very aggressive one.
Matching smiles, even.
Nothing like hanging out with your buddy.
Just warms our hearts to see spontaneous poses like this.
Nothing like an air compressor and a bag full of balloons.
Adam is flying out of Omaha to go to the Country Maid Annual Dealers Convention in Chicago, IL. He's meeting Dad and Mom there! I decided to stay with the kids and get some more painting done on the house! It's going good, but a pretty big job.
Here's Adam in Chicago. The dealers assembled some toys for the local Boys and Girls Club.
We have relatives that are also Butter Braid Pastry dealers. Adam got to watch over his cousin's baby for a little while. It's very family oriented and we look forward to joining in on things more and more!
