This is mainly around the Glasgow area I believe, 90 miles east of Malta. The town of Saco is 28 miles east of Malta and entirely in the floodplain - so they are most likely represented here too, as they have been hit very hard. Upstream from Malta is also hit hard in the Dodson area.

Every county in Montana is under a flood watch and/or experiencing one, except for Glacier Park.

Current Fort Peck Dam, Montana picture with all 16 spillways open June 5:
Largest hydraulically filled dam in the United States creating Fort Peck Lake, the 5th largest man-made lake in the U.S. Its coastline is longer than the state of California. It was built for the purposes of hydroelectric power generation, flood control and water quality management.

5 of the 6 dams now fully opened as of June 7th.

Gavins Point Dam spillway fully open on the Nebraska-South Dakota border June 2nd for the first time ever, another historical moment. The Garrison dam of N.D. opened this week, the Oahe dam of S.D. is also opened, June 4th, and Big Bend dam of S.D. opened June 3rd. Five of the six dams fully opened and the Fort Randall dam on the S. Dakota/Nebraska border isn't opened yet.

Plattsmouth sandbagging going on at this time to protect our clean water. They think water levels could go up 7 feet.

Sunday, June 12th, is the projected flooding height date at this time for Plattsmouth. They had a 'Great Flood' in 1993 and think it is the best-case scenario the waters will reach this week, but are hoping it will be below that stage of flooding.

The railroad tracks running along horizontally close to the top of the picture is our main berm on the left and long time earthen banks on the right. The 'little islands' of businesses and homes are surrounded by extra berms and sandbags at this time; the main one being our wastewater treatment facility. To the top left, out of the picture is our water plant. It can only be reached by boat. We live in the lower right corner, up a big hill.

Last night, June 6, we see preparations being made that weren't made last year here in Plattsmouth. Bulldozers berming up around two businesses that weren't worried last year and our wastewater treatment facility. They have a highway between them and the rising water right now. This highway is the common little drive of many Plattsmouth residents to see the Missouri and its current conditions. Last night there was also a police officer parked near the 'Road Closed' signs. They sure didn't have that last year either. Keeping us all safe.

What we currently see here is as we saw it last year. The Omaha area had record snows and spring rains with much spring flooding. This year winter and spring has been normal. But because of the northern U.S. we're gearing up for something more.

But please stand with us on God's promises as we trust Him to protect our towns, homes, family and friends. For God takes care of His own. We are His children and nothing moves us. Only His Goodness.
