Last day of April. Today we went to story time and made a 'May Day' basket for tomorrow. Matthew has all his little stops around the library. His favorite is the ladder to the loft, but a close second is down below on a table with beads he can move around on wire. There's a separate room here for the children's section in the library which is really nice. So running and normal talking aren't frowned upon too much. Matthew really likes putting together big floor puzzles and going over to a little place where they can use an ink pad and stamps. There's a colorful fan he always needs to check out as well as get occasional drinks at the water fountain using a special little stool. We also need to remember to bring change so he can put it into a cute little dinosaur that they use for various fundraisers. He loves running through the hallways of the bookshelves with his shoes flashing and stopping at a computer every now and then. We always seem to be the last ones to leave. And as it gets closer with fewer and fewer kids, he will tag along with kids he meets until they leave. He happily gives a big, "Bye!" a few hugs and yesterday he even gave a kiss away.
Today we got a new dishwasher! Yeah! Goodbye 'Montgomery Ward' oldie. It has worked for us, but we've done a lot of extra washing because of it too. Last night Adam stayed up late pulling it out after working outside for a while. The kitchen counters were built around it to some extent and the chords were quite hard to work with. So after quite a bit of maneuvering, keeping Matthew out of the insulation and sopping up a pool of water - out it came. Adam also had to take out a few cool parts to keep. What's better than having the chance to take a motor apart?
Still cool out. In the 40s and overcast during the day and the low 30s at night. We are doing well. We can tell Matthew's teeth feel better, so that is wonderful. He is calmer. And Kaitlyn loves to grab on to anything that comes into her reach. The other day she got my oatmeal and today almost pulled over my bowl of cereal. Strong grip. One day I was out in the kitchen while she was on the floor. When I came out to check on her and Matthew she had peanut butter all over her face and blanket. I never really got the full story what happened there. They were pretty cute. They also sleep so well at night and take a nap every day. What good kids!
