April 2nd, 2009

We're off to Malta! Kaitlyn will be baptized Sunday and we'll also go up for a health checkup to Canada while we're there. We probably won't be able to come back for another visit until July. So we want to try and do a couple extra things along with visiting, the priority.

We wanted to get going early while it was still dark. Since Adam is used to that schedule anyway. And this way the kiddies can sleep quite a bit of the way. But when the alarm goes off, we think, "Hey, this is vacation!" So we got off at about 9 a.m. Still a very good time. We stop at Lodge Grass and it sure is busy there. Feels good to be in Montana again! We also stop at Grass Range for a late lunch. It is great seeing some familiar faces there. And Matthew gets a chance to run around for a while so that is very nice too. He also went to the "Rock Shop" with Daddy and picked out a little bag of special rocks. They even picked up a pretty pair of earrings for Mommy! This past weekend they had such a blizzard there at Grass Range, that 25 stranded motorists slept in the restaurant. Others stayed at the church, as well as local homes. The snowplows couldn't keep up with the snow, so they even had to stop. You'd never even know it today. The dirt parking lot is almost dry, let alone not much snow around.

By the time we're close to Zortman, Kaitlyn is very comfortable with being in the car. So that is nice. Matthew loved playing with those rocks from Grass Range. Back and forth from the bag to a little box, what fun! We got to Malta at about 5:30 and everybody is there to have supper with us! Roger, Debbie, Blake, Grandma and Grandpa - what a pleasant surprise. Dad/Grandpa made supper and it tasted so good. It is so good seeing everyone. Everything looks so good.
