On the way to the park for Matthew's birthday! We've been looking forward to it!
So happy to have some friends come and celebrate with us!

Callista really likes playing catch! Her Daddy, Scott, wasn't able to make it. We are praying for him while he's in the hospital. He came home on sunday, the 28th, and back to work on tuesday! So glad Anita and the kids made it!
Here's her brother, Zachary, and Logan, who's the tallest.
Karla and her boys, Caleb and J.D. came a little later and weren't in the picture with the kids at the cake. Our wonderful neighbors and friends from across the street.
Karla's mother, Joyce. Better known as, Grammy. Most of the following pictures were taken by her and she so graciously and generously shared with us!
When she first arrived, Matthew promptly took the cake over to her to show her. It was still in the box. When it was time to pull it out, it was still sitting beside her. Matthew happily picked it up and brought it over to the table. Phew. No problem! Just got Mommy's full attention when I couldn't locate it at first, and then watched him quickly bringing it back over!
Our neighbors, Ken and Linda, who also attend the same church as we do, First Baptist Church of Plattsmouth.
Julie and her daughter, Abby. They live across town and we garden in their back yard with them. Julie also works with Kiewit.
Zachary also will have his birthday, August 28! He is turning 3 years old.
Tasted very good! We got the cake from our great local 'Stan's Bakery.' They do such a great job. They did Matthew's baseball field cake last year. Right after I had ordered it last year, Matthew said he'd wanted an insect cake! So that was still the desire this year and that is what we did. In our moves to different parts of the nation, it has been fascinating discovering the differences in nature from one state to another. This is one of the things we are always exclaiming over and looking at on a regular basis. So interesting and a great birthday theme.
Crystal, Logan and Chris. They also came over for Christmas last year and it was so good seeing them again. Crystal is originally from the Churchill area, just like Adam.
Getting the gummy worms sorted out.
Adam brought over all of our trikes and fun things to ride. There was just enough for everybody and they really enjoyed riding them throughout the entire time. With a ramp going to and from the gazebo, it was a good time.
I unfortunately didn't bring any gifts for Kaitlyn. After opening some up with Matthew yesterday, she was really expecting to do the same again today. Sorry honey!

The traditional pinata. Matthew is such a slugger that it's become a lot of fun every year. After his birth in Texas ~ it was just a normal part of a party there and has traveled with us everywhere we've gone.
Logan warned me that he would be able to knock it down on his first time up...and he did! The kids were in awe. They were so impressed. Even with a blindfold and Adam pulling it up out of his reach on the first hit, he said he could hear it and got it on the second hit! Such a good job!
Adam saw there was still toys that hadn't all come out in the parts of the pinata, so he's going to string it up again. The kids were happy to go at it again!
No accidents, no tears, and nobody was hurt the entire day! So thankful for our angels watching over each and every one of us.
Pink dresses and baseball bats. Doesn't get much better than that.

All the kids were just fascinated with the rope. They were 'helping' Adam with it the entire time.

Adam is the perfect host with kids. He played with them all individually and together in groups the entire time. Thanks Superman!
Matthew had the good idea to tie the football onto the end of the awesome rope. It was getting to the end of the day and tensions were a little high. But Daddy made it work and quickly wrapped it up.
This past month Kaitlyn has become a good scooter rider.
At the end of the party, each child had something to ride back to the house on. Adam therefore was able to pack everything up into the blue wagon, with Julie carrying one bag and Abby pulling the cooler. We all made it home in one trip. It was a very cute procession.
Thank you everyone for a wonderful time and the great gifts! So glad you could all make it...and for sharing this great time in our lives with us here on the blog, too! That means so much to us. We love you all.
