Adam tried every way up our hill, but our Nissan just couldn't make it. So he parked in a lit parking lot and we drove down and picked him up. The kids were so excited! "We're going to rescue Daddy! We're going to rescue Daddy!"
We returned home and Matthew went right to shoveling all by himself. Everything you can see here - he did! He went at it hard. He was expertly flipping the shovel fulls right over his shoulder. So cute.
Daddy has been helping Matthew eat all of his dinner. Tonight he fell asleep trying. Normally they will have a cup of "hot chocolate" before bed. Which is warm milk with a coloring of chocolate. Matthew is a go-go and it takes some work to fall asleep!

After a week and a half of spring weather, it is hard realizing that we have to bundle up again to go outside!

Getting ready for bed.

Kaitlyn is learning how to count to three. She's really good at one and three, in no particular order. Her little friend, Betty, is doing so many of the same things she is. When the kids were all talking about their ages, Betty and Kaitlyn were telling each other, "three, three." They are both two, both dressing themselves, going to the bathroom by themselves, both learning to count to three, and both really good at the numbers one and three. It was so cute listening to them both stating, "three, three!" to each other so assuredly.
Kaitlyn is adamant about picking out and putting on her own clothes. It is very common that she puts both of her legs in one leg of her pants. So we are always sure to be close to keep the frustrations low and the enthusiasm high!

Matthew came down from getting dressed and this is what he was wearing. Yes, he even wears his roller blades going up and down the stairs. Always likes a good challenge.
4 1/2 years old! So we all baked a cake and the kids decorated it. Very fun spontaneous little celebration.

The other night he left a picture of a boy on a skateboard on Daddy's chair. He asked him if he had seen it a few minutes before dinner. He's really ready for a skateboard!
