almost 5 1/2 years, 3 years and 4 months old
The kids keep asking when their birthdays are...I think they Really liked Christmas. Matthew actually boxed up this race track saying he's going to save it for his birthday and open it then. He's so excited. He kept out the remote control part, that works without the track, and keeps playing with it, though. So funny!
A nice smoked prime rib roast. It's brisk out! And yet, notice the bare feet : ) Pretty awesome way to bring in the New Year! Happy New Year!!
Fun. Adam had the week off between Christmas and New Year's. Very nice.

These two have really bonded since William has been born. We are so thankful for their friendship!! Twasn't always so. It has been developing and is a Huge answer to prayer. Thank you Lord!! Nothing like being best friends with your sibling from early on. Every now and then they'll even sit side by side in our easy chair or glider at home. Awesome! Not everyone can do that with little sister or big brother!

The train sets and buildings are normally outdoors. But they bring them in for winter.
There were cranberries floating down around the base in water. It was big!
Every kind of poinsettia imaginable. So beautiful. The train set buildings are fashioned after places around Omaha.
This is a common house plant up in Montana. Much smaller of course and called a rubber plant, I think. And they flower! I never knew that!
We were going to go to the zoo after this. But it was Packed. Never even thought of the fact that school vacation is still going on. Everybody seemed to be there. I've never seen the parking lots so full!
So we went to a play area in the nearest mall. That helped! It was extra busy, too, but do-able.

The oldest boy there ended up asking Matthew to play 'spy' with him with a few other boys. Matthew was in heaven. It was very tough to leave.
At church, Jan. 1st. The last Sunday before the decorations came down.
Matthew and Kaitlyn always are always on top of bringing their bibles every Sunday with "cash" tucked in them. We keep telling them it's "offering" but so far they always keep calling it cash. Kaitlyn says it so cute! "Cash!" with a big s-h and lips way out.
They call this our miracle church. It's a year old now and had $800,000 gifted towards it during the building phase. It is beautiful! This is the entryway. Even the bathrooms are beautiful. Much nicer than most restaurants!
Kids Sing Praise Club sang during the church service today, "You're a Great Big God," Jan. 15th. Matthew knew everything really well and did such a good job! Though he was very distracted at watching himself on the big screens : ) He is the third one in on the top right. Seeing him up front sure puts it in perspective of how small he really is! "Only 5 yrs. old"...is really young - and little!
They practice on wednesday nights while we go to church service. And on the 11th, Matthew discovered his first lose tooth there!! It's down on the bottom row on his right side. His teeth are so tiny...his permanent ones are going to seem so huge at first!
It snowed!! Tuesday, January 17th. Time to go out and play! Kaitlyn is a very light dresser. But eventually more goes on.
You can't tell here, but Kaitlyn is starting to prefer the color purple, I think! We've been having tea parties almost ever day for about two weeks now, and she always wants the purple place setting. And when she colors and paints, she's choosing purple more, too. Matthew and Kaitlyn both say it without an 'r' sound and it sounds so cute. Something like, "puple," with a short 'u' sound, kind of.
I didn't get a good picture of Matthew unfortunately. Notice the ski goggles. He always is so proud when he's done dressing and likes to come show us right away.
I took these from inside. Sorry about the wind chimes! Our neighbors came by and invited them over to the park with them. They did a little sledding with Caleb and JD. It was cold though, and they came home pretty quick. But so wonderful!
I liked the design work : ) Nothing like bathtub time!
4 months old! And he wants to walk this month!! He is strong. His neck has always been so strong and now he is wanting to get going with Matthew and Kaitlyn I think. He really likes being in this saucer. We just got him a walker. So that will be fun to see how that goes!
Back on Jan. 1st he really liked laying on his back a kicking at dangling toys and also grabbing them. And on the 3rd he was sitting on the couch and lunged forward onto his stomach! Three times! We were so amazed. I know I was in more of a fog with Matthew and Kaitlyn their first 6 months...but William really seems to be coming along much faster than we've ever seen.
William really wants activity before bed at night. He wants us to walk him around. He also is getting his legs in position to scoot when he is laying on his tummy at times. So fun to watch him developing!
Work is Busy. Adam really hides the stress of it well. He always comes home so cheerful. We are so thankful for him. He has very large amounts of emails and phone calls that he has to answer every day working toward getting telematics all running and off the ground. With many meetings every week, breaking it up. He coordinates a lot of them. The telematics team, which falls under the equipment group, is about 4 men. They are working at getting all of Kiewit's equipment set with computer chips that log all of their running information. And that information will run to their headquarters where it is assimilated and made into easy access to any Kiewit employee. No small task. They did their agenda for the entire upcoming year and it will be more of the same - busy, emails, phone calls and meetings. It's pretty common for most employees there to take a 15 minute break every day. They usually go for a walk. I keep trying to talk Adam into doing that, too! He purposely went for little stair walks back at Buckskin for a while, but that's been about it.
Jan. 19th, thursday ~ 4 mo. For quite a bit of drooling and chewing on his hands, William sure isn't much different. Quite a bit nicer than when Matthew and Kaitlyn first started thinking about getting some teeth in!
